Month 1

I'm on a roll today, in terms of writing these posts :)

I used the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor to conceive - and also charted my temperature. The temp thing didn't work too well for me, since I didn't really see a "peak" - but it did help determine if I was pregnant :) We tried on the High and Peak days as per the monitor and voila, I got a positive in Month 1 :) I was hesitant to spend so much on this monitor, but after reading all of the great reviews from those who had conceived within the first 3 months of using the monitor, I thought there is no better investment than this if you're ready - which I was. And I was right! I'm so glad I got the monitor (which was suggested by my friend, Sheena).

Let me try and recap what I felt during Month 1.

I found out on Friday, 4/16 that I'm pregnant :) Before even taking the pregnancy test, I "knew" I was pregnant. I took my temperature that morning, and it was elevated beyond my normal temperature (which is a sign of pregnancy!). And...I just "felt" like something was different. I promised myself, though, that I would not take a pregnancy test until Monday. But, that promise didn't really hold through...(no patience whatsoever!). It was day 26 of my cycle (and I usually have a 24 day cycle).

I took the test that afternoon, after I couldn't take it any longer and just wanted to know! :) I POS, went back to my laptop...and remained patient for 5 mins ;) A part of me was thinking not to get so optimistic; after all, it was only the first month we had really "tried." However, when I went back into the bathroom, I was pleasantly surprised to see a BFP!!! (Big Fat Positive!). Hubby (S) was the first person I called, of course, and I literally cried tears of joy :) He was ecstatic as well. Below is a snapshot I took of the Positive Pregnancy Test - yes, I wanted to remember it!!! After all, I had been waiting for this day! ;)

I called Anu & Mansi after that...just to "try out" how it would feel telling everyone. Jokingly, I said I was pregnant. Mansi believed me, and was very happy (and shocked!)...as was Anu. I told Mansi it was just an April fools joke...and she bought it ;) Anu, however, did not! So of course, after she made me swear, I had to tell her it was actually the truth...so that is how Anu was the first to know :) The next to know was my MIL - she asked me if I was pregnant, and I said no...and then she said that if I am, and lied, that it won't be good...so I had to tell her the truth ;) Little did I know that the rest of the family would find out soon thereafter! Good news travels fast :) But, my plan was to tell the rest of the family later into my pregnancy since it was too soon at that moment and of course...you do get a little scared after hearing all the horror stories!

From my friends, Pooja was the first to know. I spoke to her daily about what I was feeling, and what "fun" I had to look forward to ;) Of course, she had the perfect pregnancy, so I was prepared to take things she said with that in mind...since I had the feeling that I would probably be the complete opposite!!!

Symptoms - again, everyone and every pregnancy is different. But, I honestly didn't feel anything. My aereolas did become bigger towards the end of the 4th week, but that is about all I felt. No other symptoms yet, but of course...it was still way too early! :)

That pretty much sums up everything that occurred during the first Month!

Woohoo - Baby is on the way!!! YAY!
